Conan Gray brought his Wishbone World Tour to Prudential Center, New Jersey, on the chilly night of February 27th. Multiple activations were placed throughout the venue, as the Coneheads lined up for merch lines and photo props, in their cute sailor hats and pajamas.

Indie artist Esha Tewari opened the night at 8:00 PM. In between sets, fans had a chance to scan a QR code and play an interactive game of how well they know the artist. As fans screamed to Olivia Rodrigo’s Deja Vu, Conan Gray stepped on the stage promptly at 9:00 PM. The show began with Act i: a wishbone never breaks even, which featured a captivating performance of My World, Never Ending Song, Care, and Wish You Were Sober.

Act ii: i got the short end of the stick began with a fan favorite, Class Clown. Before the show started, fans were passing along green paper strips in the stands, asking everyone to use it against the flashlight during the song. Other heavy hitters in this included People Watching, where Conan walked down the barricade, and one of my personal favorites, The Cut That Always Bleeds.

After Act ii concluded, Conan returned to stage to perform a surprise song, in a segment deemed as Conan’s Campfire. And on this night, Conan chose to do an acoustic version of “one of his favorite works”, Footnote, which took everyone’s breath away.

Act iii: i took the long way to realization, which came on after a short interlude. Conan took full advantage of the set design and found himself in the middle of a boat. This act featured many more stripped-down performances from the pop artist. Conan brought out his guitar to perform Heather, the biggest hit in his discography, which was only made better with the entire arena singing along to the lyrics. It also featured my absolute favorite song of the night, Family Line, which is a deeply vulnerable song that details Conan’s complicated upbringing and familial relationships. The live vocals of both songs in 2026 are a more mature, raw, and gut-wrenching version of their studio recordings.

The vibes of the night quickly shifted in Act iv: i wished for love, and i found it, as Conan lit up the stage with another big hit, Maniac. He walked down both sides of the wishbone stage, bringing impeccable energy to the audience. Vodka Cranberry was the official ending song of the night, before Conan came back to perform Memories and Caramel, in his shiny new outfit.

Besides Gray’s outstanding vocals, stage presence, and his all-female band, perhaps the most impressive sight of the night was how the crowd knew every single word to every song on the setlist. There were songs I thought were more of a deep cut, but Conan’s fans were harmonizing beautifully with him, without fail. It’s truly heartwarming to see how dedicated the fanbase is. Granted, at the big age of 26, I did feel a little out of place surrounded by Coneheads who were clearly a bit younger than me. But the show itself made me forget everything – the set design, the crowd, the vocals, and most importantly, Conan’s ability to capture the audience made it one of the most memorable experiences for me.
